Christmas Season Events

An eblast will be going out to the congregation today. But because you keep up with my blog, you can read it now.

Dear Church Family,
The Christmas season is coming! The Christmas season is coming! I know, I know, you are still thinking about Thanksgiving dinner, but someone needs to sound the alarm. Get these events on your calendar.

December 1 - Join Tenth City Network (a ministry for 20's and 30's) for a Christmas Party at the Golighers, beginning at 7:30pm.
December 2 – The annual congregational dinner and meeting. Dinner is at 6:00pm and the meeting at 7:30pm. The deadline to register for the dinner is next Wednesday, November 30. Sign up Sunday using green flyers in the lobbies or online or call in to Nancy.
December 3 – Directed by The Philadelphia Chamber Choir will present “An a cappella Christmas: a program of carols and motets from the Renaissance to the present” at St. Mark’s Church at 7:30pm. ($20 person, $5 students).
December 4 – The Bible School Christmas Program. Starts at 4:30 in Fellowship Hall.

December 9 – The Vocational Ministry kick-off event, part 2, 6:30pm. Contact Jeff Jue (jjue@tenth.org). Register at vocations.tenth.org.
December 10 – The International Christmas Dinner, sponsored by Tenth International Fellowship. Starts at 5:30pm in Fellowship Hall.
December 18 – A shorter version of the a cappella Christmas program by the Philadelphia Chamber Choir. This will an extended Soli Deo Gloria offering, beginning at 6:00.
December 18 – Maranatha Christmas Worship and Testimony Night, 6:00 in Fellowship Hall.
December 23, 24 – The Christmas Eve Service, at 7:15pm. Doors will open at 6:30.
December 24 – The Family Christmas Service, at 4:30pm. Doors will open at 4:00.
December 25 – Worship at 11:00am and at 6:30pm. There will be no other church activities that day. We will have nursery (4 years and younger) for 11:00 but not for the 6:30, which will be simpler, less formal, and keeping within an hour.
So as to benefit worship attendance the next day, there will be no New Year’s Eve Watchnight Service on December 31.
In this season of giving, are you looking for activities to give acts of service? There are three Tenth ministries that would welcome your help. The Angel Tree Ministry could use volunteers to prepare the gifts collected for distribution, as well as attend the Christmas party on December 10, at 10:00am. Contact David Monie for information. Also, the Community Dinner Ministry could use volunteers on December 11. Contact David Apple. And help is needed with preparations such as baking, crafting, publicity, and serving for the Gingerbread Tea to be given to reach out to mothers and children in our church neighborhood December 14. Contact Crystal Hanrahan.
May the Lord richly bless you as celebrate his birth personally and with the church family.
In Christ,
Marion Clark
