Facilities Manager Position

The Spruce Hill Christian School campus has a position open for part-time facilities manager. Below is a job description and contact information.

Qualifications: High school diploma and at least three years of relevant experience

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

1.       Plant Operations

o   Open buildings on a daily basis to monitor building and grounds conditions, ensure appropriate heating and cooling needs, meet with administration and perform basic up-keep

o   Perform general carpentry and maintenance as needed

o   Perform and coordinate grounds work as necessary for snow, rain and other adverse conditions

o   Coordinate set up and take down for on-site events as needed

o   Coordinate security system and respond to alarms as necessary

o   Manage the maintenance and repair of all school building, grounds, property and equipment, including: carpentry, glass, plumbing, electrical, painting, locksmith services, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

2.       Management

• Work in conjunction with the Head of School, Spruce Hill principal and building and grounds committee on matters relating to maintaining a prioritized list of physical plant projects such as improvements, major repairs, painting, etc.
• Manage all heating systems and controls for maximum efficiency.
• Devise and manage a preventive maintenance system.
2. Direct Safety and Security Affairs
• Serve as a member of the school’s Emergency Management Team as outlined in the school’s Emergency Management Plan.
• Detect and correct hazards to the health and safety of employees, students, and visitors, including, but not limited to, those associated with: Asbestos (as outlined in our Asbestos Management Report and plan), radon, lead in water, side walks and school yard hazards.
• Serve as/or oversee AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act) designated person.
• Devise and manage security systems for the protection of personnel and students from any safety or security hazards while traveling to or from the school or while on school property
