Hymn Memory

Students involved in our Schola Cantorum music program for grades 1 through 6 on Sunday nights will be able to sing their hymn of the month from memory for any faculty member starting this week. Kids can come as early as 6pm to sing for a teacher. They can sing by themselves or in a small group. Students who successfully complete their hymn each month will receive a prize. Students who complete all hymn memory work by the end of the year are invited to our big pool party!

ALL students, for the month of September only, need only sing the first two verses of this month's hymn, "All Praise to God". Here is the text:

All praise to God, who reigns above,
The God of all creation,
The God of wonders, pow'r, and love,
The God of our salvation!
With healing balm my soul he fills,
The God who every sorrow stills,
To God all praise and glory!

What God's almighty pow'r hath made
His gracious mercy keepeth;
By morning dawn or evening shade
His watchful eye ne'er sleepeth;
Within the kingdom of his might,
Lo, all is just and all is right,
To God all praise and glory!

(Hmm...now you tell me. I've just about completed memorizing verse 6.)
