Book Reading

I've been enjoying Three Cups of Tea, the book recommended by Global Outreach to read in preparation for the November 7-15 conference. (I see that Linda Boice will lead a discussion on this book November 7.) It could be considered an extended illustration from Phil's latest sermon on Love is Patient. If you recall, one point he made is that we can be patient knowing that God is sovereign and thus provides opportunity to do good through trying circumstances. One man almost dies among the forbidding mountain peaks of the Himalayas because he misses a turn on the path. That misfortune leads to great blessing for thousands, not least of all for himself.

The book, by the way, is available in the church bookstore.
