Pier 11 Event

Next Wednesday, June 17, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) will host a public presentation of four design teams that are finalists for the design of Pier 11 as a new waterfront public space. Mayor Nutter will provide an introduction, and each finalist will present examples of their work and how they would approach the project. This will be followed by a Q&A session. These nationally and internationally known finalists will help spur our imaginations about what is possible at Pier 11.

Citizens will be able to ask questions of the finalists and this public conversation will help inform DRWC’s selection process. In becoming a public park, Pier 11 will offer dramatic views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the full sweep of the river, and the design will be the first step in the transformation of the riverfront as a 21st-century public amenity.
