CLC Bookcenter Cafe

CLC Bookcenter is in the beginning stages of planning a Christian cafe inside their bookcenter at 8th and Chestnut Sts. We believe our Lord desires to see a cafe in center city that is warm and welcoming, where Christians and all people who come into the store can relax, meet, read, study, access the Internet, while honoring and seeking Him.

We need either a structural engineer or an architect to volunteer some time and expertise to help us determine if the balcony space inside our store is structurally sound and useable for this purpose.

We also need carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, and anyone with willing hands and hearts to donate their time and energy for the following~

refurbishing, upgrading the balcony and maybe the store bathroom
painting
possible repair/refurbishing of indoor stairway to balcony
cleaning
a team of volunteers to staff the cafe during open hours

We also need advice and guidance from people who have experience and/or xpertise in opening and running a cafe in Philly. L & I and Health Services/Food Safety requirements appear a bit complicated!

If you, or anyone you know, would like to be a contributing partner in this exciting new mission adventure, please contact Mrs. Peter (Merle) Wolff at 610-291-9016 or e-mail, missywolff@hotmail.com.
