Joel Fink Achieves Goal
Jonathan Rocky informed us that Joel Fink, ninth grade student at The American Academy, was able to respond to all 107 Westminster Shorter Catechism questions with a high degree of accuracy. Congratulations, Joel!

What a thrilling achievement! Kudos, Joel.
This will be an invaluable resource for Joel as he continues his education. Our four children each memorized the Children's and the Shorter Catechism. Upon completion, they recited it to the pastor, except for our youngest who said it to an elder in the church (this church :) ). While working their way through the catechism, they occasionally moaned about having to do it, but once the older ones got to college and saw how wonderfully it informed their understanding of life and the Scriptures, they were thankful for having done it.
Maybe we could incorporate the practice of a complete recitation into our Catechism Club.
